AIR SUPPLY

My HPA tank often leaks, why is this?

Dirty air is usually the culprit here. While we’ve recently added filters to our fill nipples, armorer’s will still need to maintain their HPA regulators once a year.

How many shots should I get out of a 13cu HPA tank?

A: Depending on variables (climate and launcher), you should achieve 90-130 projectiles deployed per 3000psi fill.

Oops, I accidently filled my 13cu 3000psi HPA tank to 4000psi. Will I break it?

No, it should be fine. The 3000psi HPA tank is rated for a much higher pressure. If you fill above 5000psi, the safety burst disk will leak, preventing you from filling any higher

My Scuba tank is only filling my HPA tanks to 1000psi

Scuba tanks have a limited amount of air tanks that they can fill to 3000psi. After the first few fills, you will notice the pressure will be diminishing, meaning you will only be able to fill to 2800psi, then 2700psi, etc. This is normal. You should be able to fill 18-20 13cu Air systems with 1 scuba tank to above 1900psi.

 Do the tanks come pre-filled?

For shipping purposes, no they do not.

GENERAL

What type of lubrication can I use on my PepperBall® Launcher?

Only use PepperBall branded lubrication or approved alternatives. Generally, any paintball gun lubricant will suffice if you find yourself in tough spot and cannot use PepperBall lubrication, you can generally use any paintball gun lubricant.

Can I use gun oil on the outside of my launcher?

No, this might cause failure. Gun oil will have potential to seep into the internals of the PepperBall launcher, causing o-rings to fail.

I’ve dropped projectiles on the concrete and cannot see any cracks, can I still use them?

No, those projectiles have been compromised. Even if you cannot see any visible cracks, the integrity of the projectile has been weakened due to the impact with a hard surface. Using these projectiles could potentially cause launcher failure due to projectiles shattering.

TRP

How many shots will I get out of a 12g Co2 with a TRP?

Depending on the velocity and firing cadence, the TRP should get approximately 3-4 magazines per 12gram cartridge.

My TRP is breaking projectiles

Make sure you are loading the magazines properly. The follower must be pulled down to the bottom of the magazine and stay retained until inserted into the grip. If projectiles fall out of the magazine during insertion, you will need to re-start your loading process. Gun oil will have potential to seep into the internals of the PepperBall launcher, causing o-rings to fail.

I cannot get my TRP to vent the extra air after I deploy 18 projectiles.

In a safe area, remove the magazine and confirm no projectiles remain in the launcher. While pointing in a safe direction, deploy the launcher while pressing on the bottom vent button. The remaining Co2 pressure should vent very quickly.

How do I release the air in my TRP?

  • Make sure that your magazine has been released, and no projectiles are inside the launcher.
  • Use your finger or an allen key to depress the end cap piston located on the bottom of the air vessel. This will release the air.
  • Twist the end cap counter clockwise, and remove 12g co2 cartridge.
My TRP is breaking projectiles. What are the reasons and how to I fix it?
  • Check to make sure your barrel is clear and clean of debris.
  • Check to make sure your velocity isn’t set too high.
  • Make sure you are using the right projectiles (PepperBall Projectiles), and if they are VXR, that they are loaded properly.
  • Refer to instructions on how to properly load your TRP magazine.
  • Make sure the barrel detents are in place and installed correctly.
  • If problem persists, contact Customer Service at service@pepperball.com

My TRP Launcher velocity is inconsistent.
  • Make sure you have properly lubricated your TCP bolt and regulator.
  • Check to see if you velocity is set too high.
When I pull the trigger, nothing happens.
  • Check that you velocity is high enough to cycle your TRP.
  • Make sure that your trigger linkage arm is attached to your trigger.
  • Check that your regulator components are not damaged.
  • Ensure that your CO2 cartridge has been punctured.
  • If this occurs after servicing the unit, did you ensure that the firing bolt was slid forward before reinstalling the regulator?  Failure to do this will prevent the unit from operating properly.

How do I install a C02 cartridge in my TRP Launcher?

Remove end cap from the air vessel. Insert your 12g PepperBall C02 cartridge skinny side first into the air vessel. Screw your end cap back into place. The cartridge will not puncture at this time, but it is ready to be punctured.

What temperature is ideal for storing the TRP?

When using Co2, the appropriate temperature for storing is between 37 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

What do I do if a PepperBall breaks in the barrel?

With the barrel removed from the launcher, run water down the barrel. Once powder has been removed, run your red squeegee provided in your manual kit through the barrel. Wipe dry.

Can an empty Co2 cartridge be removed from the TRP Air Vessel and used again?

Once a cartridge is pierced and removed, it can no longer be used.

FTC PRO/ TAC-SA PRO

Can a standard 13cu HPA tank fit on the TAC-SA PRO?

Yes, both the 13cu, 15cu, and 88g will fit on the TAC SA Pro with supplied adapter. The 88g adapter should be available in Q2.

The air is around 1000psi, and it will not fire. why is this happening?

Both the FTC PRO and TAC-SA PRO require 1000psi to function properly. Once your air tank gauge hits the 1000psi mark, you will need to plan a refill or swap out the air system for a fresh tank.

Can I put a folding stock on an FTC?

Yes, we sell the folding stock as an accessory.

I have a contact agency with old FTCs. Can they get upgraded to the new FTC PRO?

  • If the spring is missing, you will need a replacement. Contact service@pepperball.com for assistance.
How do I move my Air Source adapter from rear facing, the front facing on the FTC?
  • The FTC comes with both adapters to position the HPA bottle forward or to the rear. To change the orientation of the HPA bottle, the following steps must be completed:
  • Ensure the launcher is unloaded and in “Safe Mode”. Detach the HPA bottle from the HPA adapter.
  • Using a 1/8" hex key, unscrew the two hex screws on the bottom of the HPA adapter.
  • Use a 7/16" wrench and ½” wrench to detach the air hose from the 90° adaptor that is attached to the HPA adapter.
  • Reattach the air hose to the selected HPA adapter, (teflon tape must be used to guard against any air leaks).
  • Before attaching the HPA adapter to the launcher, ensure that the orientation is correct.
  • Reattach the HPA adapter to the bottom of the launcher, using two hex screws.  The FTC came with a shorter screw in the manual kit.  The forward screw must be replaced with the shorter screw to ensure a full seat on the hardware.
  • Reattach the HPA bottle and test for leaks.

VKS PRO/ VK-SBL

I loaded less than 15 projectiles into my magazine, and it is breaking rounds. Why is this happening?

The VKS magazine is designed to hold 15 projectiles. Using fewer than 15 projectiles can result in misfeeding, which may cause breakage.

I turned the velocity up, and the launcher is leaking down the barrel. How do I fix this?

Turning the velocity up too high can result in the regulator to bleed air. If your VKS is leaking down the barrel after velocity adjustment. Try turning the velocity adjustment screw to the left (counter clockwise) 1 full turn and pressurize. Contact service if it is still leaking.

I can’t remove my barrel.

Most likely your barrel nubbins or detents are stuck. Try removing the Hopper Adapter cover found on the right side of the launcher. Once removed, you should be able to see the barrel and if it is jammed due to the detents.

My hand guard spins around the front of the launcher.

Either your Mlok hand guard is loose, or the barrel nut is loose. First, remove the hand guard and use a castle nut wrench to tighten the barrel nut. Then use the supplied allen keys to tighten down the Mlok hand guard.

How do I get replacement parts for my VKS

Please contact service@pepperball.com for parts requests.
My barrel is jammed on my VKS.Please contact service@pepperball.com to send in your launcher for service and replacement. My VKS is leaking from the side of the launcher.

  • Make sure that your regulator o-rings and components are in good shape.
  • Check the condition of your o-rings located on the flow plate (right side of the launcher).
  • Check the regulator spring pad o-ring located under your velocity adjustment screw.

My VKS is leaking from the rear of the launcher.

  • Check the slide valve o-rings for wear.
  • Make sure that the charging handle has not been warped.
  • Check the black slide located on the side valve assembly for damage. Also check the inner o-rings on the black slide from damage.
  • Make sure that your tank o-ring is not damaged.

My VKS is leaking down the barrel

  • Make sure that the barrel and firing spring are installed.
  • Check your firing bolt assembly o-rings (Air Chamber OD O-ring ORNG 020-B70 and Air Chamber Cap O-ring ORNG 110-P70). If the velocity is set too high, the Air Chamber Cap O-ring can pop out, causing an immediate purge of air down the barrel.

VKS will not fire.

  • Make sure you have properly loaded your projectiles.
  • Check for jammed projectiles in the breach.
  • Make sure there is a sufficient amount of air in your tank.
  • Pull the charging handle back, and fire again.
  • Ensure that your VKS is properly lubricated.
  • Make sure there is no debris inside your VKS.
  • Check that your velocity is high enough to cycle your launcher.
  • If properly instructed, check that your VKS regulator components are not damaged.
  • If after a full rebuild the launcher will still not deploy, please contact service@pepperball.com for further instructions.

My VKS is breaking projectiles.

  • If you experience more than a small number of broken projectiles, be sure that both the launcher and magazine are free of broken projectiles or any other debris by running a barrel squeegee through barrel until it’s clean and free of debris.
  • Make sure that the barrel is locked in its correct position, and that both detents are present and installed correctly so that they catch a projectile as it enters the breach.
  • Make sure the launcher is set to a reasonable velocity.
  • Make sure you are loading your magazine with 15 projectiles every time. Half loading can result in projectiles misfeeding/misfiring.
  • If removing the magazine with projectiles still in the magazine/breach, make sure you remove loose projectiles from inside the launcher before re-installing magazine into magazine well. Failure to do so can result in stuck/lodged projectiles, which can cause jamming and projectiles breakage. This can also cause damage to your firing bolt and misfires.

Does it take batteries?

The launcher itself does not require batteries.

What material is this rifle made of?

The VKS is made of a combination of Polymer and aluminum. The magazines are made from a highly durable plastic compound.

Does this have select fire?

No, it is semi-automatic only.

How do I adjust the velocity on my VKS?

Using a 3/16 Allen key, Turn the velocity adjustment screw clockwise to increase velocity. Turn the velocity adjustment screw counter-clockwise to decrease velocity. After turning the Velocity Adjustment Screw, the velocity of the launcher MUST be checked by utilizing a chronograph (not included) to verify projectile velocity.  This is not an immediate adjustment.  The recommendation is to cycle the charging handle off and then on OR cycle the unit 2-3 with no projectiles before checking velocity to allow the system to adjust to the new setting.

How do I install the hopper elbow?

  • REMOVE HOPPER COVER PLATE: Remove the Hopper Cover Plate by removing the four (4)(H-S 4-40 x 5/16”) screws.
  • INSTALL HOPPER ELBOW: Attach the Hopper Elbow located in the universal pack that came with the launcher re-using the (4) (H-S 4-40 x 5/16”) screws from the cover.

TO CHANGE VKS™ FROM MAGAZINE MODE TO HOPPER MODE:
  • Grab barrel and push in toward launcher to release detent. Twist barrel clockwise (as viewed facing launcher) until barrel clicks into hopper detent.
TO CHANGE VKS™ FROM HOPPER MODE TO MAGAZINE MODE:
  • Grab barrel and push in toward launcher to release detent. Twist barrel counter-clockwise (as viewed facing gun) until barrel clicks into magazine detent.

PPC/ PPC Breacher

I loaded less than 10 projectiles into my magazine, and it is breaking rounds. Why is this happening?

The PPC magazine is designed to hold 10 projectiles. Using fewer than 10 projectiles will result in misfeeding and ball breakages.

How is the Breacher different than the PPC?

The Breacher is very similar to the PPC but has a high visibility red duracoat finish and beefed-up internals to withstand the force required to deploy solid projectiles at 400fps.

What is the best way to load my PPC or Breacher?

Make sure that the follower is locked into place, and load 10 round or VXR™ projectiles into the magazine. Do not release the follower until the magazine is firmly installed into the grip.
